Interesting article on Daytona. I recognized a couple of the people from local motorcycle shops around here (Tampa Bay, FL).
Second in the 200 was Ray Hempstead, who was manager of the local Yamaha Shop, Barney's Yamaha. His son used to race motocross back in the 1970's.
In Class 3, 126-175cc: Steve Poneleit came in second. His family owned the Honda dealership in Sarasota, Hap's Honda. Him and his brother used to also race motocross with us back in the 1970's.
