I also did some minor frame assembly work today. Not a lot because my toes keep getting cold from the concrete. But at least a little!

Mounted horn, ignition coil, voltage regulator & also the chain guard and bash plate. At least a few things got done… :ugeek: Victor

Victor,
I have a 92B Headlight.
I don't plan to use it since I got a Chrome one W/ 6volt bulb and a off /on switch mounted on it.
It is a Side Tab Mount and was New for $49.00 from BMI Kart and Mini bike parts.

I finished the color sand and final color coat on the tank earlier today! And I just finished the decals on the tank now! Here’s the 3 pieces! Hopefully clear coat soon! It was 58*F today, but snow is predicted for tomorrow with only a high of 37*F. No. Lear coat tomorrow. :ugeek: Victor

I also have a Complete Wombat Aircleaner, Filter, Rubber "J" connector Pipe, and Spring Clip.

Since I am using a Battery Box / Key Ign. Switch, I have to use the Old Original Aircleaner.

Got my bottom end together last night. Today I put on the clutch assembly and installed the kick lever & spring. However, I found that the thin, unthreaded part of the idle gear retention bolt (#49) broke off and the idle gear is floating in the tranny! So now I have to wait for a new retention bolt to arrive. :ugeek: Victor

Motor parts. I sort them by inside tranny, outside clutch side, outside magneto side, etc. it helps keep all the parts together so things don’t roll off the work bench and end up with the 10mm sockets!
I don’t usually have more than one motor apart, but if I did, it would allow me to keep them separate so they don’t get mixed up. :ugeek: Victor

Got my parts in the mail from Terry! I can now finish the rebuild on this 03 motor. Also finished the front fork rebuild. And the triple trees & forks are back on the frame now, along with bars, perches and dual cable throttle!

I also cleaned up and installed the rear rack & tool box on the bike, thanks to missing parts from Bruce! :ugeek: Victor

Got the motor together but I’m not real sure about this counter shaft. I may open it again and swap it out. Seems every time I put the sprocket nut on, it gets really difficult to turn. :ugeek: Victor

Talk about frustration! I was working in the front wheel I received with this Model 03 Wombat. I decided since the mud catcher rim went so well, I would cut the spokes off the front wheel, clean and polish the chrome rim & clean and paint the hub, and re-spoke the front wheel. All in all, I put about 3.5 hours into this wheel.

Then I realized it had a conical hub and the spokes I had wouldn’t work. I messaged both Terry Larson and Scott Hatch to see if they had replacement spokes for an 03 front wheel.

I was talking on the phone with Lee Fabry, about spoking a conical hub. Then I asked Alan to send me a pic or 2 of his 250 SL wheel since they were supposed to be the same.

When I saw Alan’s pics, I reslized this wasn’t an 03 wheel. Looking closely inside the brake insert if this hub, I then saw it. A Yamaha logo as well as a part number. Turns out this wheel was for a Yamaha DT 125 and not an 03 Wombat!

I told Terry & Scott and they both told me they would check to see what they had and get back to me on Friday.

As I stated, I had also been talking with Lee Fabry about spoking. When I told him in a message it was a Yamaha wheel, he told me he thought he had an 03 front wheel he didn’t need. He text me a couple of pics. I asked what he wanted for it, and let’s just say it was less than the cost of a set of spokes!

I told him to remove the new knobby tire which was on it because I had a matched set of Enduro tires going on this 03, and to keep the tire and backing plate to save shipping weight, because I had 2 backing plates as well! Lee mailed the wheel this morning!

And, I have a friend who wants the Yamaha wheel & I told him he could have it for postage!

Here’s the wheel Lee is sending me, as well as the Yamaha rim & hub. Crisis averted!!! :ugeek: Victor
