Throttle differences???

I have been compiling a list of Motorcycle brands in the 1960's and 1970's and have 140 on the list. It's based primarily on dealership based ads in old motorcycle magazines. Some of them are rebranding of the same motorcycles in different countries, such as Puch and Alstate, or Sprite and American Eagle. Many of them used Sachs, Rotax, Villiers or even Hodaka engines, but were different companies. 140 brands and counting!
