This is from the bike I just received from Montana. Was stored inside so I was hoping I could get it going without too much work. Doesn't look like it. . Pic through the exhaust port.

Pulled the top off the Montana 03. Not as bad as I was afraid of. Think it was over oiling a little? Here are some piston pics before and after. The crankcase looks good. No rust and no extra rod movement. Turns over easily.
I'm going to take it the rest of the way down and put one of HPI's complete bottom end packages in. Going to hone the cylinder and some new rings. And drill an oil hole!

Running rich definitely, maybe a clutch side seal starting to leak. Installing the overhaul package should clear up most lower end issues. Make sure of the piston to cylinder clearances , have to be in spec after the hone.

Yep, and if it isn't in spec I'm already working on plan B or maybe I'm at plan M by now.
