I gave up duck hunting in high school when I drew the short straw and had to swim out in the pond to retrieve the ducks (no dog). Photo is almost dead center in Oregon at Sunriver. Temps have been 12 to 32, snow is about 24" deep. Temps and snow are about the same in Athena.

Ed, isn't that photo of the Deschutes River, somewhere near where they filmed a portion of the John Wayne movie, "Rooster Cogburn"?

I watch that movie over and over again, just to see the scenery.

If you ever watch the Longmire TV series it's shot in and around Santa Fe! ; D Victor

Have watched all seasons of Longmire, and really like the scenery. Now I know where it is filmed. How about the town? What is its real name?
Some of you may be fans of the Netflix series "Heartland" which is going on eleven seasons now. I am fortunate to live 15 minutes from where many of the locations are for this series, here is south western Alberta. Iconic motorcycle country both dirt and paved. Lots of federal and provincial land, wide open to hunting, and motor sports.

Well there are different towns for different scenes. The sherrifs office is in Las Vegas, N. M. The scenes of Caty's house, Palace Ave, Santa Fe. Walt's cabin is in the Valles Caldera, a 22 mile across volcano crater in the Jemez Mountains. Lots of places all over the area. The grave they robbed the body from us off I-25?on the south side of Albuquerque, near the exit to "The Pit" and the airport. The casino is the Isleta Casino south of Albuquerque. The inside of the Red Pony is actually the Mine Shaft Tavern in Madrid, same place where they filmed Wild Hogs, not sure where the outside shots come from. Possibly one of the local pueblos. So lots of different locations! Come out & I'll take you around! ; D Victor

Then I have been in the Red Pony! Did a big tour of New Mexico on my ST 1300 in 2009 and had a burger in Madrid. Neat little town.

Well a few days ago my pond thawed out. But we got about 4-5" of snow again last night. At 6:30 this morning it was -16*F with the wind chill factor! Haven't been out side yet but it's still really cold just opening the door to let the dogs out.

I'm trapped inside but I can look out the windows. Waterfowl are looking for open water and the birds are eating us out of house and home. The other day a record number of 75 Cardinals were at the feeder at once. Just a report from SE Kansas! (and I'm bored with no current Hodaka projects and am down to building a model airplane to prevent cabin fever.)

My grandsons are in the back yard making snow bricks with the rectangular recycle bins. They said they are going to build a snow fort. But I don't think the snow will last. It's already warmed up to 26*F! ; D Victor

Beautiful weather today in Central Florida, low humidity and temperature in the upper seventies.
But the weather is changing in the south this evening as the front is moving in with rain and Sunday morning will be in the thirties. No snow here. Parts arrived today, thank you Paul.

Here in the San Francisco bay area it is going on 8pm and a balmy 44 degrees out. Not raining yet but we are supposed to get upwards of 6" of rain this weekend.....lord knows we need the rain but not all at one time. Hopefully it will leave lots of snow in the Sierra's which is where most of our summer water supply comes from. We are hopefully heading out of our drought conditions.
