BrianZ, I've got onto a Wombat guard locally as luck would have it,,,,just waiting to see if he's going to sell it.
On the speedo mounting, I have the old kit lighting harness but it's in pretty bad condition. I also have what I think is a nice Ace harness. It has the 4 pin plug at one end, so guess it's for a headlight mounted ignition switch.
Think I'll make up a new handlebar bracket with the speedo to one side and the ignition switch beside it.

I do have the single flat plate rectifier Victor.
Had a play with the dash :D
Might get a small Squirt decal or somesuch to fill the blank spot on the dash, and see if I can find a rubber chair leg tip or similar to cover the switch base.

Glenn. Though I can't answer your fender question with accuracy about fit, I would guess it would be using the Model 94 fender with the chrome tank Squirts, and a Model 03 painted fender with the Red tank Squirt. The Model 03 does not have any chrome fenders. ; D Victor

Yeap, a 94 Wombat fender should be a direct fit and has the mounting holes for the tail light.

Thanks Victor....I searched all over last night, and that never showed?

I see now that I'll need to reverse the dashboard so the speedo is on the same side as the speedo gearbox :(

However, on a good news note :D
My tyres turned up yesterday so today was a tyre fitting day! Went with IRC Trials tyres in the end, and they look better than I thought.
Not a whole lot of clearance on the chainguard, but enough, maybe 1/4" to 3/8" ?
A great milestone event :lol:
Probably the first time it has stood on it's own two feet in 30 years.

Still waiting on some electrical gear so i can repair the various dud bits of harness etc.
Fork seals, chain ans sprockets etc. also still on the way.
Local upholsterer reckons he can recover the seat far cheaper than I can buy a cover....remains to be seen how it turns out though. Here's hoping.
I need to repair the seat base first. Has a few cracks around the front mount point and a few cover clips need to be replaced

Some of the wiring done, but as usual I haven't spent enough money fast enough yet, so still waiting for the rear brake switch and the magneto grommet. :cry:
Also have a 3 position main switch on the way, so waiting for that to arrive before finishing the 4 pin plug.

Decided against the dash mounted main switch....looks a bit tacky and seems very vulnerable to water etc, and I can't find a suitable rubber thingy to cover and protect the it. So I reshaped the bracket :D
You'll have to exuse my dirty old fork caps...waiting on another set to be vapour blasted :oops:
Managed to get the speedo cable clear of the light shell finally. The headlight brackets I have are a bit shorter than the other type, but they came with it and I was determined to keep 'em :lol:

So key is back on the battery box. I think I have the cable routing about right?
I've run the main harness behind the air cleaner back and in through the hole in the battery box, with the key harness running back behind the cleaner again to connect the plug under the tank.

Going to have a go at restoring the tank badges as well :roll:
They weren't too bad, but the "Hodaka" was not flash.
Not sure how it will go, but it's worth a try. :D
So I've stripped the back section and the plan is to re-do the chrome lettering then paint the red and black parts.

What color code did u use for frame, was that Holden red and which one
Was looking for paint codes for Wombat
What did u use to clesn up ur engine cases, n hubs, was thinking bead blasting or hydro blasting,
Just been looking for alum clean spray, couldnt find one suitable,
Mines a big basket case as well
Hoping to have it together for bike swap n show later this year
Wont be totally restored, but hopefully a good start

G'day Dave,
I believe it is Holden Red motor red. When they scanned the airbox lid it came up as simply Holden Red.....The guy reckoned it was the engine colour. It's been a while since I've seen a red motor, but I'd say that is it. Either way it's a perfect match.
Yep, I hydro blasted all my alloy parts, some like the head were also vibro polished to tart them up a bit more

Nice build! I have some parts from a Road Toad that might fit your bike. Specifically a rear tail light that's near mint. Since the one you have may not fit the angle..

Well I need a front brake cable/ switch guide, along with a couple of custom guides, so basically being a miserable sod I thought I'd take the cheap way out.
Bought a 4m length of 3.2mm polished stainless rod ($5.00) and had a go.
15min. later I have this.
Pretty happy with the result, better than a new one :D

Is the Toad fender anything like a Squirt?
I have just bought a Wombat guard which I'm hoping will allow the use of the one I have.
