Van-Tech Forks

Post by hodakamax »

Did Van-Tech make more than one size of their leading link fork? Thrownchain has a set he says is for a 250. The picture on the right shows the ones that I used in the day on a Model 93. Funny, I can't remember that after 45 years.

I did contact Bill Vantichlet and gave him the specs of the front end. He says that is more than likely a 250 VT front end.

Thanks Clarence, progress is slow on the "Day One Project" but I am collecting a few parts. I think the project is headed in the direction of a trials/trail/play bike. I always liked that type of fork for off-road work because of their uncanny ability to roll over large obstacles. Can you put me in touch with person? Don't you think they would look good on this machine?-- :?

Max are we going to see you at Hodaka Days? I could have him bring them. Your bike reminds me of Wild Thing ========Clarence

Clarence, I would love to attend Hodaka Days and meet in person all of the fun people I've met on the forum. I keep trying to work that in but it's a long haul from SE Kansas and transporting bikes. Anyway, could he send me maybe a picture or even a complete description and price and we can go from there.

Again, Thanks! And also thanks KC for your info!

Max

PS--Mac said the bike reminded him of the Partrige Family bus!

Kansas to Athena is a 2 day trip. I can go NY to Athena in 3 . And I haul a trailer with bikes. Make the trip, it's a good time and worth the effort. Very laid back event.

As near as I can find out, there were 3 sizes of forks. There was a small version for the early set ups, a second slightly bigger set sold as a replacement for 100/ 125 cc bikes, and a big set with extra bracing for the bigger bikes. The ones I have are the med set for 100/125cc bikes. I will have these at HD if anyone is interested.
