Looking for a seat
Hello, I'm looking for a seat for a 1975, 98 Super Rat. Does anyone know if seats off other models would work? Like off a Wombat?
Re: Looking for a seat
According to the Parts Compatibility Spreadsheet models 01, 02, 03, 97,98 and 99 all have the same seat (part #979022).
The model 92C/96,,94,94A and 95 (#949022) seats are similar except the back mount tabs are shorter and the sides are shorter.
They can be used on a model 98 if you weld on longer tabs (if you order the seat cover just remember the covers are shorter also.
Don't ask me how I know.

Re: Looking for a seat
Fairly certain I have one. I'll check tonight. If it's the one I think it is, the cover is trashed but the foam is fair.
Re: Looking for a seat
Of the three components in a seat, the base is the most expensive. If you can find a base that works, the foam and cover are easy to renew. Usually a new seat cover and foam insert will make the bike look like a million bucks, and the new foams Paul is offering feel great. So I wouldn't worry if someone has one where the cover is toast or the foam old and hard. Besides, it gives you the opportunity to clean and repaint the base, which is usually rusty under the foam.
