RT rubber intake

Post by rtboone »

Greetings

I am replacing a cracked rubber intake on my RT. I have a replacement that has extra rubber inserts that the first does not. My question is, should I cut the extra rubber off or leave it alone? Does it make any difference in the performance?

Thanks

Tom

THose would be called reed stuffers , they keep air entering the reed cage from the carb from expanding after it leave the carb keeping velociy higher. How much difference it makes would be difficult to know , I would say compare the two on your seat dyno. Potentially better with them.
