I was in Europe for a scheduled trip the past few weeks. Part of the trip was for a short vacation. Part of the trip was for Preston Petty Products in Europe but the most important part of my trip was the birth of our daughters first child. Amy is married and lives in Oslo Norway and no matter how you look at it this is a long long way from Sandgate Vermont. Our grandson Nico was scheduled to be born on April 22nd but with kids you never know when they are going so show up. This was the case for Nico. Like his mother he had a mind of his own. I had given myself what I thought was plenty of time on the back side of his birth to enjoy him before I had to head back home. But my plans did not fit his schedule. If he did not come to meet his new family by Friday May 1st Amy was going to have to be induced to give birth. By May 1st I was already to have been back in the U.S.
Nico showed up two hours before Amy was scheduled to have been induced.
The long and short of this is I changed my plans and extended my stay so I could meet my new grandson and could spend some time with everyone before I headed home. Never a doubt my family always comes first!!
Chris and Kaity did everything humanly possible to get all the VMX magazines out, Ship SH orders, Ship Fortuna's orders and manage the business's while Patti and I were away. Kaity missed a few days with a viral infection so the full burden was on Chris. With Hodaka parts it is not always as easy as it seems.Parts are organized and well stocked but in certain cases it is up to me to be certain of shipping the correct part for the correct model. Kaity and Chris do have yet have that wealth of knowledge but they try.
So I apologize to those of you that it took a long time to get your orders shipped. We tried to keep Strictly Hodaka open while I was gone but I see now that this upset a few customers.I personally try my hardest to get orders out right away but the most important thing is to get the orders right.
I have many many emails and phone messages left for me wanting to know when parts orders placed will be shipped. It for me is much easier to to a blanket email to explain the situation. I returned home late yesterday and as of now ALL orders have been shipped. Again I am sorry for the delay and inconvenience this may have caused some of you.
I have a planned trip to Australia the end of this month through the first week of June. At that time Strictly Hodaka will be closed and NO orders will be shipped.Orders will not be able to be placed on line and any phone orders will be told that nothing will be shipped until my return June 10th.
I will also now have to pass on my going to this years Hodaka Days event so I can stay here and get things caught up. I hate to miss Hodaka Days but something has to give for my taking three weeks in Europe.
Thank you all for your understanding and I truly appreciate how kind everyone has been in my absence.
