Road Toad was a 100cc bike not far removed in concept from the Ace 100. The Wombat was a 125cc bike, again not far removed in concept from the Ace 100. Both started life as a streetable trail bike. A lot of Hodakas were modified, some before they were a week old. Engines in the 90 through 125 class were fungible. Nothing wrong with the idea of putting a 125 engine in a 100 frame. I have one.

Is there something specifically you wanted to know?

In the building of my WomAce, the only caveat I found was, the Ace frame, when accepting an 03 motor, needs to have a half nickel size notch ground out on the shifter side. I have the cardboard template for this in my treasure trove of goodies. I don't think this modification applies to the other motor/frame installations. But don't hold me to it.
