throttle cable adjustment
I recently removed the carb off my 73 combat wombat. when I reinstalled it the throttle cable has quite a bit of slack in it. tried to tighten but no luck..any ideas..thanks
Re: throttle cable adjustment
Remove the slide and make sure that the cable has not slipped out of it's locked position in the slide. Also make sure that the locking tab is fully seated down onto the top of the slide, over the needle and in position to keep the cable in place

Make sure the slide is aligned with its guide pin. Sounds as if the slide is stuck in the wide open position. Rotate the slide so the slanted face is toward the air cleaner, and look for the pin and slot. When they align, the slide will drop all the way down into the carb. Warning, it will start with the throttle wide open. Gets exciting.

Thanks for your help. The throttle is working well and the bike runs great. What a fun bike to ride.
