petcock S.A.E.or metric?
i come up with 1/8 27?? or 10/27?wtf any help?

1/8 British Standard Pipe (BSP).

I believe that this is the actual thread. BSPP 1/8-28 (British Standard Pipe Parallel). I know that a tap or die of this size works great.

Internationally pipe thread is either British Standard or National standard. I do not think there is a metric standard for pipe thread. Although I have been wrong in the past, I don't think this is one of those times. I work for an international company. We supply equipment all over the world.
NPT is used most of the time. I don't like pipe thread that is not tapered. Some countries still use horse hair and red lead as a sealant.
Of course gobs of Teflon tape even on JIC fittings is sometimes used. It seems in some countries, if you can hold a pipe wrench it makes you a plumber. Drives me nuts.
