Combat Wombat air boot: reed valve

I have added a reed valve to my Combat Wombat engine and run into a problem. Adding the reed valve assembly spaces the carburetor further back and now the air boot that connects the carb to the air filter is too long. Is there another air boot that fits properly?

Hi Brian--I had the same situation on my 94A. Paul had some different lengths he let me try. One was close but I still had to move the air cleaner back about 1.5 inches. Anyway check with Paul--Seems like he even sent me some measurements first. Later--

I was able to use mine, I think we trimmed a little off the front part of the boot going on the carb. How would you move the airbox on a CW? at mine

I used a piece of automotive heater duct hose that fit my carb 32mm then glued the other end into the ID of the air cleaner housing

I was able to install my boot with no modification although I was told I would probably need too. See photo.

I did however need to modify the exhaust pipe. See dent. This is only needed if you try to install the pipe after the carb.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! It looks like my best option is to trim an existing air boot to make it fit. Richard, I'm not sure how your boot ended up fitting as mine is now way too big to fit.
