Re: Hodaka 100cc ROTARY Motor
I too have heard some information on the engine . . . but have forgotten it all. The photos clearly show an intake port behind the cylinder for another carb . . .
. . . and it sure looks like the clutch is mounted on one of the transmission shafts (??? end of the countershaft????)
Seems like Lee Fabry had one of these engines in a Road Racer on exhibit at Hodaka Days once upon a time.

Keep the rubber side down!
Re: Hodaka 100cc ROTARY Motor
The engine was made by Hodaka in Japan but PABATCO did not want to use them in production bikes. By the time the rotary valve Hodaka engines were available they were obsolete in a sense. Hodaka/PABATCO were using reed valves which in Chuck's and Harry's estimation were a better way to go.
The rotary valved engines went to Cycle Trends in Taiwan and they built the Pederson Wildcat bikes. These bikes were sold illegally in the U.S. for a very short time.Scott we have one of these engines upstairs.
Thanks
Paul
