Malcolm Smith Island

In the background of this picture there's a small island to be seen across a narrow strip of ocean. It's actually called Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. I'm tossing the photo onto the forum because Salt Spring is the birthplace and first home of Malcolm Smith (1941). The Smith family had a sheep ranch there before moving to California when Malcolm was six.

The shot is taken from the summit of Mount Prevost on Vancouver Island. Buddy, on the rock, rode up on a new Kawasaki KLX 250s. I picked my 1976-1/2 Hodaka 250SL for this ride. This is also a popular site for hang gliders to launch from - don't get too close to the edge, it's a long ways down!
