What are the issues in converting a Dirt Squirt or a Road from the 100cc Top end to a 125cc top end?? Should work correct since the bottom end is a 125cc? Do you have to change out the Rod as well as the Jug, head, gaskets? Use the same carb or go to a larger one on the reed cage??
If I read anything right the Toad/Dirt Squirt use a stock Toad frame, 19"/17" rims tires, 100cc top end. So by going to 21/18" rims, 125 top end brings it up closer to a wombat??? Maybe??
Thanks.

Re: More Dirt Squirt Questions
To convert the engine, you would have to have the cases milled out to accept the larger diameter of the 125 cylinder. You would also have to replace the crankshaft, which would probably also necessitate the replacement of the ignition and clutch (I'm not sure on this, but I know the 125 cranks had larger output spindles on each side compared to the earlier 100's - not sure about the later, aluminum cylinder 100's). It seems it would be a lot easier and less expensive just to buy a 125 engine and replace the 100 engine. Also, as you are talking about changing out the wheels etc., wouldn't it be easier to just get a 125 Wombat and sell the Dirt Squirt.
Re: More Dirt Squirt Questions
Ahhh Yes - good points all of them. Long term thinking on my part since I just bid on a Dirt Squirt on Evil Bay and trying to find out about the 125 lower end part of the 100 Dirt Squirt. Kind of thinking along the lines of - get the 1976 squirt because it is close enough to pick up, run it for awhile then maybe put on the 21"F 18" rear wheel/tire combo since that should be a basic switch and fit since the frame is a road toad frame and they had the larger tires in 1976. Then if/when I have engine issues bump up to the 125 Wombat engine or if it is easy enough just pop on the Wombat top end. I always thought the Dirt Squirts were mini bikes so I didn't pay a lot of attention - learning more now. Probably a moot point though since hodies go fast and not cheap on Evil bay and I've put up what I'm willing and not a penny more If this one doesn't pan out I might be leaning more towards a Road Toad when they pop up - Kind of like that green!!!
Thanks for an answer.
