Motorcycle Supershow

Post by BrianZ »

Every year in Toronto there is the Motorcycle Supershow. The show has new bikes, parts, accessories, and a vintage display. My friends at Sasquatch Cycle have been setting up a display for a few years now, and this year they asked if they could show a couple of my Hodakas. Of course I said yes:

They never miss an opportunity to poke a little fun at my bikes:

My Rat one first place!

And then my Ace won second place!

To say I am pleased with the results is an understatement. Thanks for putting up with my self indulgent bragging!

Sure Maxie.

Here's a picture of the Super Rat when I got it. I didn't do a lot of work on it until I got a tetanus shot. Despite the miserable condition of the bike, the gas tank was in really nice shape. The only thing I did to it was a liberal application of chrome polish.

Here is another picture of the Rat:

The Ace was in better shape when I got it, but not much. The engine was in the bike but it was seized. The gas tank was so rusty that I could poke my fingers through it. I couldn't find a good Ace 100 tank, so it ended up with a Super Rat tank.

I don't have too many pictures of the bikes. I keep them in my basement and it's hard to get a decent picture.

Thanks Brian,I love these restoration projects. I don't think people realize what we started with and how much effort goes into a project like yours. Its a great lesson in problem solving and a good feeling when the project is finished and well done. Good job and thanks for sharing!
