Super combat pistons

Post by Modracer70 »

I'm sure I read in an earlier post that Super Combat pistons had thicker piston skirts, my question is about weight. Would more performance be available from using a standard 125 piston, modifying the piston for reed valve/victory port for a decrease in piston weight?
Thanks, Dave

I have noticed the Super Combat intake skirt does appear to be a little thicker than the Combat Wombat piston. I do not notice enough difference in piston weight to affect performance in a measureable way. Better to have the durability than any perceived performance improvement from such a small, if any, weight difference in my opinion.

I agree with Danny, also the SC piston hasa larger horizontal window for victory port feed
