Resonator Revisited Material Needed by 9/24/14!

Post by bobwhitman »

Hodaka Folk:

Summer’s drawing toward the end, and soon leaves will be turning… which means I’m turning to you once again for material for the Resonator Revisited.

Perhaps you had a cool experience at our 50th Anniversary Hodaka Days or the Bad Rock? Wanna share your triumphs (or pratfalls) while racing this summer? Just found – or resurrected – an especially choice “barn find”? (try and top the guy who literally dug his up!) Any and all will be appreciated.

Remember, we have introduced two new “sections” – one on member’s bikes, to showcase any cool bikes members are willing to share; and “Tech Tips’ – a section intended to include short pieces on clever little time/labor/cost – saving ideas writers are willing to share. Please consider contributing to these short items! (In addition, of course, to your more lengthy, and illuminating works!)
Our target for the next issue is to produce and distribute the next issue in early October. Allowing for editing & layout, I need your stuff no later than September 24th . Please help with timely submissions.

Hi guys I thought I'd tell you about MTRob he is my husband for 34 years,And just turned 59. A little history on him since he reads this column all the time. And really got into the Hodaka's, I don't know why he loves Hodakas but he raced Honda's and Suzuki back in 1974 and 1975. He was state champion in then 125 Expert class in 1974 and 1975 in Montana. During 1975 they held a 4 state race, Mont. Idaho, Wash and Org. The top 3 riders for each state went to Lewsington ID. To find out who was the best He took 2 in his class. Suzuki came to offer him a ride and his Dad said no Because he was underage. He gave all of it up until he saw my dads 1964 Ace 90 in his garage. My dad gave it to him and it sparked something in him. So in the last 4 years he has rebuilt my Dads Ace90 and a 125 Wombat and now he is working on a 100b Super Rat. His health is not that good and can't walk to far but boy can he ride. Anyway wish is old bastard a happy birthday and he really wants to go to Or next year.

I see a couple different stories here. Kay you have a good start, start with a little about your dad and his Ace 90 then the spark that hit Rob. Make it a word Doc, add a couple photos and get it off to Bob.

Everyone, see that's how easy it is but Bob needs your help. There is many stories out there and we need you guys to write them. That's what this club is about, our stories and our Hodaka's.

Kay-

They are all right on! Do send me your story at [email protected], along with any digital pictures you might have, either of "the old days" or of recent times. We love these stories.

The next issue is looking good, I expect cool tales & hot tips, stories about folks journeying from Australia to Athena for Hodaka Days and a lot more.

Bring it on!

Just a little update. When Rob read what I wrote on the chat he got a little miffed at me. He is kind of a personal person and keeps to himself. After a little while he thought it was kinda cool. I remember him telling me that he had so many trophy's during his racing days he threw them out. He said he would rather have the cash than a trophy. But wished he would have taken a picture with all the trophy's with him and his Bike so he could look back on what good times he had. I have a couple of scrap books showing almost his entire bike riding years.
Kelly and Bob I'll get more info out of him and see if I can add a few cool pictures.
Take Care
