03 Wombat fuel tank liner removal

Post by Ratsambell »

I have read the related posts from about 4-5 years ago. Has anyone had recent success with chemically (and safely)removing a tank liner that is cracked and peeled up? The underlying metal looks good but pieces are making their way in force to the fuel filter. Not sure of what liner was used by previous owner.
Hoping I do not ruin the exterior paint in the process!...

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you are on Facebook there are a couple of groups on there that deal mainly with motorcycle gas tank repairs (all brands so a much larger audience). If you don't get a response here, you might post your question there.
Tank does look in great shape.
