Oversize petcock?

I have a really nice model 95 Combat Wombat tank that has been re-chromed and is dent free. The one problem with it is that the petcock threads seem to have been taped out to a bigger size and the stock petcocks don't fit. I am not sure what size these threads are. Does anyone know of a petcock that is slightly larger in thread size that might work with this tank?

There are a few different size petcocks made (from other brands and aftermarket, etc.). The earlier Hodaka tanks had a 1/8" - 28 BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) thread.
A common aftermarket petcock size is 1/8" standard pipe thread (which is close to the size of the Hodaka threads-but not interchangable) and another, slightly larger, is 1/4" standard pipe thread.
Best bet in finding a replacement is to go to a hardware/plumbing store and see if you can find something in the pipe/plumbing area that fits your threads.
