I've got a question as it relates to the designation of the Ace models, as far as when the designation goes from being an Ace 100B to an Ace 100B+.
Some literature list the Ace 100B+ as starting at frame # A-67613. But other records (the Hodaka book by Ken Smith) indicate that the B+ started with frame # A-51013.
In looking at this I find that the vast majority of changes that we normally associate with the change from a B to a B+ occurred in January 1971, with frame # A-51013. These changes included the following:
Forks – upgrade from the forks without removable damper rods to the ones that had removable damper rods and could be adjusted up or down in the triple clamps.
Speedometer – changed to a larger speedometer with a reset-able trip meter.
Front fender – Front fender was moved from low mount to a high mount fender.
Rear wheel and swing arm – The rear hub was changed from the small brake hub with solid mounted 4 bolt sprocket to the larger brake hub with the rubber cushioned 6 bolt sprocket carrier. The swing arm was changed to accommodate the larger hub and thicker axle.
The ignition system was changed to product a higher output.
There were some other changes (such as iso bolts, screws and threads), but these were the most noticeable.
So, my question is, were there any changes from those noted above that would differentiate the Ace 100's starting at frame # A-67613 from those starting with frame # A-51013? If not, it seems logical to conclude that the Ace 100B+ started with frame # A-51013, as indicated in the Hodaka book.
Again, just my read on it.

To get understanding, there would have to be discussion and dialogue. Model number verses name, 3 motor cross / super rats Model 93, 93A and 93B. Three street versions each named a 100B, models 92A 92B 92B+.
I will have to look up the answer to your last question and answer it tomorrow. Yes there are changes from the 92B to the 92B+. The hodaka book does have a few small errors. I will answer your question tomorrow.

Changes from the 92B to the 92B+ --- the flywheel changed from kokusan FA 119 to Kokusan Denki FA4309. primary drive helicut gears ratio 3.63:1 to the 92B+ helicut gears ratio 2.82:1. Final drive single row 420 chain with the 92B+ using 423 chain. Gear ratio (36T) 2.4:1 (50T) 3.33:1 and the 92B+ (14T / 56T) 4.00:1 and finally the gear ratio overall for the 92B first with the 36 tooth sprocket first 30.49, 18.64 ,13.07, 10.37 and fifth 8.71... with the 50 tooth sprocket first was 42.39, 25.92, 18.17, 14.41, and fifth 12.11. The 92B+ with the 56 tooth sprocket was 39.48 in first, 24.14, 16.92, 13.42 and fifth 11.28. This is the primary difference and I think the 92B+ and the 93B quickly went back to the 420 chain. These changes I believe are the same changes from the 93A to the 93B --- Clarence
