Years ago, under the old group chat page, there was a "Files" section. In the files was a really great article on Tank Derusting using Electrolysis. The article was written by Greg Floren and included photos of his set-up.
Any chance that article is still around somewhere? Any possibility of it being republished, either on here, or better yet in the "Resonator Revisited"? If so, it could be helpful to those needing to derust a tank.
Just a suggestion. Thanks
PS:
I have a printed copy of the article, just without the photos.
Derust a tank with electrolysis
Re: Derust a tank with electrolysis
I tried electrolysis on my 94 Wombat tank and it works.
As a precaution, the process gives off explosive hydrogen gas. Next time I'll make sure I use tank electrolysis outside only (remember the Hindenburg).

Re: Derust a tank with electrolysis
i did electrolysis on a tank and it did very well . i did it outside mixed the water and borax right in the tank , i used a metal rod that i put plastic spacers on that kept the rod from contacting the metal of the tank and dont remember how long it took but cleaned it up . then dryed and coated with oil or premix , cant remember , to stop the flash rust
