Lengthining the swingarm

Post by crash »

I was looking for methods to lengthen a swingarm, and could not find much information.
So I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I was looking for a way to keep everything square and level, and this is what I came up with.

after checking that the swingarm was square and level on each end, I tacked a plate across the end.

Then 2 more plates were tacked to the inside of swingarm.

making everything stable for cutting off the ears.

Swingarm stayed level and square and it wasan't as bad a job as I thought it would be.

I added a photo of the finished swingarm, with the bracing for strength.
