Looking for Model 94/A crank case

Post by Simonkav »

Hey everyone,
Catastrophic engine failure here - both case halves are toast. Metal sheared and jammed between the crank and the case, cracked the cases. Damage was done quick :(. On the hunt for cases to rebuild the motor with. I don't see them available on hodaka-parts. I have an email into Terry, will try calling next week. Message me if you have a lead on any!

1972 Model 94a Wombat 125

Cheers,
Simon

I’ll also post photo of the cases. I’m assuming they cannot be repaired based on where the damage is. Welcome feedback....

I’m in San Francisco.

Ouch is right :(

If anyone knows a great case repair guy, definitely not opposed to trying. I figured they were shot!

Thanks again everyone!

I did see a post from Rich (racerclam) about doing case work. Doesn’t appear to be active anymore?

You should be able to find a right side case half pretty cheap. The left side case is often chain damaged an will be more to replace as clean undamaged ones are getting rare.

I’ll have a set shortly, right side near new but non numbered, left side with previous damage already repaired.

Hodaka-Parts has new 03 cases for sale.

Are they backwards compatible with 94 internals? I think there's a mod required (oil passage drilling) to run the 03 on premix however.

I am sure I would have a set of cases, if nobody else does I would not rebuild your cases unless they were to a 1936 henweigh. ------- Clarence

Appreciate the input. How might I connect with you regarding said cases? Feel free to PM or email me through the board.

Just for my learning - why the Canada limitation? I’m not hip to the challenges - shipping to US outrageous or customs not cool with it or just a PITA you’d rather not deal with?

I wouldn't toss the roached cases. Some a$$-kicking aluminum fabber with a serious sand-casting jones might like to put them back into circulation. They ain't makin' any more.
