Thank you, I'm new with a reassembly question

Hi, and thank you for adding me.

I disassembled an engine during the pandemic and managed to find a replacement for some broken gears on the 125. This was the reason for disassembly on the engine which did not turn and was spitting out the gears. Long story short to the reassembly. The case has about a millimeter gap preventing proper assembly between the two halves. Any ideas, please?

What would cause the case halves not to seal. I do not want to force it.

2 things are common. Crank bearings or transmission output bearing not seated properly or kickstart gear and mainstack not assembled correctly. Put a couple screws in and lightly tighten. Try turning the crank or rotate the output shaft. Something will bind and tell you where to look.

Gears assembled correctly? There is an up and down to them. If you changed the bearings are they seated in the cases correctly?

I went back to each assembly and pieced it back together to eliminate each individually based upon your feedback,
I started with the bearings and I was able to reassemble after a couple of tries. Thank you for the input.
