What you see is everything that it came with. Let's see, there is an Ace90 motor in a box on the shelf. Label says it runs. An Ace 90 pipe is hanging from the rafters. Tank? Check. Guess I'm building an Ace 90 this winter. Just can't say no...
Clarence, Where would frame number A95xx put this for a build date?
Came with a rare sprocket carrier to store the overlay sprocket. Cool!

Goal will be another solid running dirt bike with grandchildren in mind. Last winters Ace100 dirt bike build was a big hit. Might as well have 2 of them.
The stock bars were a surprise especially since they are not bent. But... I hate them and have already removed them. I will keep them as a backup for my street legal Ace 90 and model 92 Ace 100.
Dale. I have a 90 to do as well. Going to do the same thing! Clean it up & make a dirt bike out of it! I’ll start on it when I’m finished with the second Rat!
I’m going to send the handle bars off for re-chroming. Any recommendations, and what should I do with them prep wise before sending? Thx! Victor

I have never had anything chromed or plated so can not advise on that. I am sure others here can help with that.
Victor re-chroming bars and other items, no need to do anything that's part of the price. they will pre-chrome everything in chemical baths. Since you are going to do the bars look around and make sure there may not be anything else you might need to be re chromed, The chrome-rs might give a little disc. with more items to do. Just say in. Bruce
Making progress. Needing warmer weather to finish painting and then ready for assembly. Finished the exhaust pipe this week. It is a flamethrower built from a 94 Wombat married to an Ace 100 B+ header. Flamethrowers are synonymous to Hodaka for me...
Time to tackle the motor. This is a fairly early build with number P2026 out of 17380 built. It was an Ebay purchase a number of years back. Condition unknown.
Compression is good and leak down test was steller. Spark? Yes. Piston viewed from exhaust and intake looks new. I will be replacing the left crank seal with a fresh one and then run it as is. But... what the heck is this? Is this common on earlier builds? A rubber block insert in the partition between the magneto cavity and the countershaft cavity. Running behind this block is the magneto ground wire which is connected to the case within the countershaft cavity.

Thanks. I've wondered about that and thought I'd replace it with a coil mounted under the tank. I haven't researched it yet but guessing that you would need to replace this ignition coil with an exciting coil?
The finished project! The Ace 90 dirtbike is ready for some summer fun.
I installed the seat foam and cover today as the last step. The model 93 saddle with a flamethrower exhaust and high front fender make the perfect Hodaka to my eyes.

Wow! You moved way ahead of me! I’m almost done. Got the motor in the frame and polished out the old cases after removing the paint which was in pretty bad shape.
Seat can back from the upholstery shop! Getting good spark from the original coil on the stator. Just had to trim the wire & add another plug cap to it!
I ordered all the parts I needed for the carb, except one. The W clip to lock the needle in place on the slide. Ordered it yesterday. Should ship tomorrow!
Tomorrow, I’ll install the OEM pipe because it cleaned up really nice. All that’s remaining is the tank. I may add some paint to the tank. Need to get some pin stripe tape to lay out the pattern. Then we will see how it goes! Victor

This build was another low budget affair using the roller that was given to me and other parts that I had hanging in the rafters. Among those parts was a model 94 Flame thrower pipe that was in pretty good shape except for missing several inches that had been cut off at the exhaust nut.
The 125cc flame throwers are different from the 100cc version. The most obvious difference is the at the outlet of the pipe. The 125 is squared off and the spark arrestor sticks completely out of the pipe. The 100cc pipes are finished with an angle and the spark arrestor is partially shrouded by the pipe. The headers are also different with the 100cc being smaller in diameter and the bends are different. I was looking at fabricating a new header section when I recalled a friend talking about a pipe piece that he had. Turns out he had the complete header to a 100cc flame thrower! A parts trade was made.
I cut the complete header off of the pipe at the welded seam. It took some fiddling with the angles, but with some determination I settled on the angle (using duct tape of course!). I then marked up the pipe for alignment and took it to my local welder.
Well how da ya like that! A bud who just happens to have a 100cc flame thrower header laying around? I'd say you hang with a cool crowd. Very clever pipe mod. It looks nicely tucked in at the knee level - maybe more effectively than stock. Very clever build. Inspires me to never EVER throw Hodie parts away. Thanks for sharing.
