Dirty_rat. I was told to remove it & solder to the other wires. Now I need to put a new loop on the wire & put it back with the screw to hold it. I’ll do that tomorrow morning.
Is there any reason I would get no spark with it hooked up originally that way? Other than a bad condenser out of the box?
I used a 3 way connector on the black coil wire. I already had a 2 way there to connect a kill switch. So I removed the 2 way, added a 3 way connector & put a bullet on the wire from the condenser.
So the wires are all interconnected at the 3 way & I wrapped the 3 way connector with electrical tape. Didn’t have an insulator cover so I just used tape.
It’s connected like this:
Green X = black wire to stator
Blue X = black wire for kill switch
Yellow X = black wire to coil
Red X = black wire to condenser
Condenser is grounded to the coil screw.
This should work rather than just soldering the condenser wire to the black wire from the coil to the stator, right?
Hmmmm. I wonder if the frame paint is stopping the spark plug coil from grounding? Maybe I need to loosen the coil mount and sand some of the paint away for better contact? Is enamel paint an insulator?
