Probably because I'm getting older, but I have a heck of a time reading the dipsticks on my Hodakas. Clean oil on the silver sticks is almost invisible to me. I'm thinking about painting the end of the sticks a matte black but not sure such a good idea. Any ideas?
The answer is as plain as toilet paper, Lay one square sheet in the palm of the left hand, Pull the dipstick out and lay it on the toilet paper in your left hand, the oil level will show up to a line equal to the level on the dip stick. I have to use this on my Duromax. --------------- Clarence
I'm sticking with the pants. The potential for voluntary, albeit inconsequential grit transfer would drive me bananas - but I'm unerringly finicky about such things. I can see how well that would work though. The difference between the oiled and unoiled chalk would be unmistakable.
