Has anyone found a paint which matches the cammo green on the air box?
I purchased a can of Rustoleum Camoflauge Green. It’s close, but not right on the money. I may mist it with a little bit of the color I used for the Road Toad, to give it a bit more yellowish color. It’s still drying in the pic so there appears to be a variance until it finishes drying. Had to warm up the paint & the cover to room temp and take it outside to spray it, then bring it back in to dry.
And this is a flat paint, so after silk screening the graphics on, I’ll hit it with some clear coat.
Let me know if anyone has found a rattle can with a closer color! Victor

Testors olive drab in a rattle can is pretty close. Hobby shops would have it.

Yep - that's where I got it. I've only seen one NOS, wrapped up CW air box cover, briefly, so that memory is my source. Both of mine were pretty weathered and rusty so they appear much lighter. If you have a good example, you might want to compare it to the Testors on a piece of scrap before you commit. I'd be interested in your comparison. I put a nice knarf on one last summer so its going to need a bit of sprucing up.

Mine is in this kind of shape. I did clean it up and was able to remove some of the rust, but I left it as is & clear coated it.
The one I’m redoing is Alan’s. I guess I can put them side by side for a color comparison. At least I got rid of the dent which was in the area just below the hole fore the screw. I think it’s pretty close. What do you think? Victor

Looks good Victor. If you use a satin clear coat, I think you nailed it. The original example I used for reference had a semi-gloss/satin appearance to it.
Re: Combat Wombat Air Box Green....
Well I cut the film for the silk screen. I need to build a small frame, stretch & staple the screen on and get some film adhesion fluid & white silk screen ink. Then a satin clear coat on top. I’ll post the finished product when I’m done! Victor
