fuel filter
fuel filter
so about a month ago my wombat was running strange. so i fiddled around with it for a while, then i got tired of standing on my head working on it so spent the next two weeks putting a lift together. then i took off the fly wheel and re checked the points and wires and all that then i took the carb off and cleaned it up and made sure all the passage ways were clean and put a new throttle cable on. i figured i should run some gas through the lines to check how the flow was thats when i discovered the fuel filter was plugged . new filter and presto back to running like it should again wanted to bring it up as it might help someone out in stead of spending a month of your life chasing your tail like i just did ......albert
Re: fuel filter
So you decided to give her gas.....couldn't help myself.
I'm rather torn between the strainer type that lets a smudge of fine particulates into the bowl but never plugs up and the total 'N95' type that you have to toss from time to time if you have a less than shiny tank as I do. I don't think the tiny particles would plug the jets or anything, but I don't really like them taking a tour of my motor.

Re: fuel filter
Inline filters are available which have the intake & outlet at right angles. They can make the setup a bit 'cleaner' from tank to carb.

J PARK " So you decided to give her gas. " good one i aways take the easy ones to . victor those are nice filters from pingle i could not justify it. i shop at napa most times as i live in a small town and know the manager so its where i get parts like filters and such. heres a picture of what i have...albert
Re: fuel filter
Cool. I use disposable fuel filters on my Hodskas as well. I use the Pingle on my 1500 because it needs the hi flow capabilities of the Pingle for WOT acceleration, so the filter doesn’t slow the fuel flow needed. Victor
