Shipping Questions

Post by Stever »

Hello friends, I need shipping advice, please. My knowledge is from years ago and hopelessly out of date. Looking online it seems prohibitively expensive even to just box up a frame and ship it by UPS Ground, which is what I did years ago.

How do you ship a bike or a frame or an engine now days, and what does it cost?

Many thanks.

Of course, thanks. I'm in Atlanta, Georgia 30339 and plan to ship anywhere in the lower 48 (got some stuff to sell, on ebay I suppose).

Stever. You can sell to eager buyers on the Hodaka Club Fan Page on FB! Lots of folks there looking for stuff. Unless you’re shipping an entire bike or rolling chassis, USPS has been good for me. No problems so far.

For larger pieces like rims & forks, I have sometimes use buses for shipping. They are less costly, but only do station to station. So seller brings it to his station & buyer picks up at his station.

Thrownchain also does bike shipping. Usually around Hodaka Days but also whenever there’s enough going. You can check with him for more info. :ugeek: Victor
