Another clutch question

I finally have a little time to work on B+ project. I blue printed clutch. I replaced inner and outer springs. My original issue, I wasn’t able to get correct free play.
When reassembling, I realized I didn’t have the outside thrush washer. I’m ordering one Monday. Can the clutch function without washer?? What clutch issues would that missing washer be?

I was wondering if missing washer was part of my problem. Missing washer would change overall thickness of clutch pack, right??

Hmmm, "outside thrust washer"? I'm not sure what that is indicating - can you clarify?
