Hodaka Ace 90 hesitation

Post by Jackace90 »

Hi, I just bought a Hodaka Ace 90 a few months ago and it has always ran really good tell the other day it started running really bad after washing it. It was super hesitant and cutting out. I got water into the flywheel cover. so I took it off and let it air out in the sun for a few hours and this seemed to help a lot. But it has a slight hesitation still under partial throttle. So I tried cleaning the points changed the spark plug and put fresh gas in it and this seemed to have solved the issue for about a 30 minute ride but on my way back home I noticed it came back slightly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Thank you for replying I pulled the carb yesterday drained it and checked all the jets to make sure they were clean. I also pulled a fuel sample didn't see anything. I'm also wondering it says to mix the oil 20:1 but I'm wondering if this is to much my bike really smokes a lot.

Possible bad clutch side main seal sucking in transmission oil. Check the transmission breather for signs of oil.

Thank you for your help. I swapped out the condenser and that seemed to do the trick.
