01 forks
One dust wiper is badly cracked, and the other is not far behind. Seals and o-rings are probably in similar shape. Interestingly, the forks work perfectly and have as good damping as my recently rebuild (by Hodaka Dave) RT forks. I have never worked on painted tank model forks other than some relatively fruitless oil mixing experiments looking for a dual-purpose wonder brew. I'm flirting with the notion of changing the wipers and oil and running them as is (if the oil is funky, rebuild). Any tips/caveats to know about before I whip out the Dremel and dig in. I'm reasonably confident with toaster tank forks and am armed with legit workshop manuals.

Get the fork caps and the outer nuts were the seal sits loose, do the while still on the bike. Kinda using the triple clamp as a vice is better.
