It turns over and has spark the carb is junk and it’s a 55cc. Is there any place for me to get more information or what they are worth? Any thing like that?

Re: HELP Yamaguchi with Hodaka motor
It is not a hodaka engine, it would be a Yamaguchi. I have bought them for $50.00 not running to $300.00 running in fair shape. So many factors turn signals, seat, tank over all condition. Without pictures $ 20.00 just kidding. --- Clarence

That is a find. I have been looking for a good stock gas tank for my last Gouch creation. I am in the market to purchase if you are in the market to sell. Richard

How did I know you got the blue one? They also did one in white. one? I would guess 500 but it is only a guess. ------ Clarence
Re: HELP Yamaguchi with Hodaka motor
It even says Yamaguchi on the cases. What lead you to believe it was a “Hodaka” motor? Made by the same manufacturer but no common parts to a Hodaka is what’s always been explained here. Victor

Re: HELP Yamaguchi with Hodaka motor
Just reading about them every thing that I can find says Hodaka made the motor for it.
Re: HELP Yamaguchi with Hodaka motor

Re: HELP Yamaguchi with Hodaka motor
Good point of discussion I think Fuji heavy industries made that engine . That is what I understood back in the 60's. I was a dealer for other snow cats and such, I only sold items that used Fuji engines. Subaru also used Fuji. Many things from Hodaka also listed Fuji heavy industries. There has never been a 2 cycle motor ever built they are called engines motors are on washing machines. ----------------- Clarence
Re: HELP Yamaguchi with Hodaka motor
A motor is a machine that converts other forms of energy into mechanical energy and so imparts motion.
An engine is a motor that converts thermal energy to mechanical work.

So an engine is a specific type of motor. That's why it's not incorrect to speak of a motorboat, or a motorcar, or a motor speedway, even if the boat or car is clearly powered by combustion.

I stand very corrected, I just went to Websters. You are totally correct. My memory span must be measured in hours. It would be proper English for me to say ( I have a Hodaka motor to sell ). -------- Clarence

Hmmm... I guess that's why we don't ride enginecycles... I was with Clarence until Mr. Webster interjected. Thanks for the lesson, even us old guys can learn something new every day!

So was that old Maytag on momma's washing machine an engine or a motor?

Re: HELP Yamaguchi with Hodaka motor
Traded my maytag engine " motor for a hodaka and sold it at hodaka days for about $500.00. Honest. The answer to the question is what do you want it to be. Ed's answer is correct. --------------- Clarence
