Super Combat rubber flange

The rubber flange I have is cracked and needs replaced or repaired. No new ones available at this time. So I took one of my 03 ones that was in poor shape and removed all the rubber. Then I filed the holes in a standard Mikuni adapter with 70mm bolt centers so it fit over the studs on the reed cage. Finally I scrounged up a couple cap screws to replace the studs.

It seems like someone with a mill could make these without too much trouble. I found 2.5" x 1" stock on ebay for a dollar an inch cut to length. So about $4 each for the material.

Glad I’ve been saving all my unusable manifolds. That’s a great solution that I’ll use a lot!

Another option for replacing the rubber part of the inlet is to use the inlet from a Kawasaki KZ200. It has a stud spacing of 66mm so it is really close on the spacing. The ID of the inlet is a little tight, but with a little work with a Dremel sanding cylinder it fits just fine.

That is interesting in that the stud spacing on the standard wombat is 48-50mm and there are no standard flanges (including the above) that are an exact fit.

For anything bigger than 26mm or to adapt a spigot mount, one has to widen the holes on an aftermarket flange to barely fit over the studs and still seal. The alternative would have been a solid flange held on with inset screws and with ears to hold 66mm studs.

At least, my the adapter did not require a wedge as in your case.
