Remembering " Mr. Bill" Cooper

Post by gregg_floren »

Many of you have already heard that “Mr. Bill” Bill Cooper passed away suddenly a few weeks ago. Bill was a active club member and worked at Van Leeuwen Distributing – a long time sponsor of Hodaka Days. He was also a very active member of the Trailblazers club in California among his many other motorcycle related pursuits. He was a very outgoing guy and a lot of fun.

Curt Van Leeuwen called me a few days back and told me that his co-workers and family though it would an appropriate tribute to Bill to intern his remains in a classic Hodaka gas tank and wondered if I could help. I talked to Terry at Hodaka Parts and he has donated a very nice tank and badges and sent them to Lee Fabry who has volunteered to clean the tank, remove the dents, and build an appropriate stand for it. I have volunteered to raise the funds to get the tank re-chromed.

If you would like to contribute to the chroming fund and remember Mr. Bill in this way, please drop me an email at [email protected]. (fob = “Friends of Bill”) and I’ll get you the details. Please don’t send money to the club account. We would like to keep this fund separate from general club expenses.

We’ll miss you Mr. Bill.
