No, I did not get it. Not quick enough.
The listing was in “motorcycle parts “ for those of you that keep an eye on Craig’s List it is a good idea to check the parts category also. Now that CL has a fee to list in motorcycles people are listing in parts to avoid the fee.

Re: 250 Hodaka for sale in Oregon $500
Hello, I’m lucky the one that ended up with the 250. I guess I just happened to be looking at CL at just the right time. Of course now I’m trying to figure out just how lucky (or unlucky) I really am with having to find parts for the thing. It’s mostly there, biggest thing is the shifter mechanism is missing, all the way down to the countershaft. Then the air box cover is missing on the right side, which you could see from the CL add. Haven’t found any air box covers yet, but I suppose I could have something made if need be. But now I’m wondering what I can do about the shifter. I may have a source for a shifter off a 250 SL, but looking at the compatibility chart it doesn’t say that the model 70 and 71 are compatible. Anyone know if this is really true? Did the two 250 Hodaka models have completely different shifters? If so I’m going to be in bigger trouble finding parts than I thought. I have an email into Terry to see if he has anything hiding under his workbench. Just keeping my fingers crossed for now.
Thanks for any info anyone might have!

Both the 250 ed, 250 sl , and the rare 175 use the same shifter assembly. Lots of parts out there for the 250s.

Found this on eBay. $150 but you might make him an offer since pic #1 shows a crack in a bolt mount. Just passing it along. It can be brazed! Victor

Wow, it’s like you’re spying on my
Online activity . I was watching that shifter on eBay and picked it up. My father-in law taught welding. He’s helped me with a few projects. I’m sure he’ll be able to fix that crack without much issue. I’ve got a model 61 in addition to this new 250 so I’m desperate for parts for those models. The 175 is in far worse shape. Needs the shifter mechanism and looks like the Kickstarter was broken off flush with the crack case. Glad I wasn’t the one on top of the bike when that happened.
