Need help identifying foot pegs
When I was disassembling my DS frame the the foot pegs that were on it were mounted underneath. I figured that they should go on top so I cleaned them up and mounted on top of the frame. When I went to mount the engine the shifter side cover would hit the peg mount. So I put on a extras set from a Wombat and it fit fine.
So my question is; What are the pegs off of? Are they early Hodaka or are they even Hodaka pegs?
Thanks ahead of time for reading and any advise. Kevin

I'm pretty sure the peg mount bar is the same for the Wombat and the chrome tank Squirt. When the peg mount bar is set all the way back, it can interfere with engine reinstallation. No Hodie ever had a foot peg mount bolted on underneath the frame, er, um, at least not from the factory.

They look like Webco aftermarket upgrades on a stock bar. I've also seen some Webco knockoffs with the same saw-tooth edge. Do they say "WI" anywhere on the pegs?
Captain, I'm guessing a bar mounted underneath the cradle would be demonstrated soon by a couple broken legs, chin, and wrists with a side of disappointment about 10 minutes after the start of the first moto.

Captain, thanks for the info. It looks like my inexperience is showing through!
Matt, I went out just now and looked and on the end of the peg and there was a circle and a faint WI in the center. So I guess they’re Webcos?
The old boy that used to own the bike was pretty short potato farmer. He used it to do his irrigating. So that probably explains the lowered pegs.HaHa

Yep, that's the Webco logo. Webco was probably the 60's-70's premier manufacturer of aftermarket Hodaka performance parts. They self-clean as well or better than modern pegs. Good pegs. Better back story on the bike.

Thanks Matt, It looks like I need to research more on Webco stuff. I think they might look pretty cool on the Super Rat project that is waiting in the wings........... Kevin

Re: Need help identifying foot pegs
I have a set just like those on my toaster tank Super Rat. They are too thin for SX/MX work, but for the low altitude jumps on a VMX course, they work perfectly. The "WI" stands for Webco Industries so your pegs are indeed Webcos. Webco manufactured a full line of hop-up parts as direct replacements for OEM Hodaka parts. Unfortunately, Webco parts are by and large getting very rare so if you chance across any and they are not thrashed or prohibitively expensive, its a good idea to scoop them up. Always desirable. I wish I knew more about the relationship between PABATCO and Webco Industries (R&D connections, etc.).

Thanks Matt for taking the time to fill me in on the Webco stuff. Been looking up stuff of them. They really were a cool company! Do you have a pic of your rat? It sounds like you are into the racing part of it. Is there much for the vintage bikes? I’m into racing vintage sleds [snowmobiles].Especially at the world sno expo in West Yellowstone. I’m new to the vintage bikes and was just curious..... Kevin

We are fortunate to have a vintage-friendly MX and hare scrambles about 15 miles from my home. They run a lane around the do-or-die stuff but include the tabletops, whoops, etc. I'll try to get a picture of my Rat posted before I put the plastic tank back on.
