friends wombat

Post by givergas »

so last year when i picked up my 03 wombat my friends brother said he had a combat wombat . well i said i was very interested in it and let me know when hes ready to get rid of it, so a couple of weeks ago my friend says hes going to look at it and he might pick it up... WHAT .. so he calls me and says its not to bad of shape and is taking it, but he dosent have a lot of time to work on it as he beef and crop farms and he is pretty busy and would i be interested in fixing it up for him, get this, since im the local hodaka expert. HA HA HA. well 1. cuss him out and tell him to go fly a kite 2. cuss him out tell him were to put it. or 3 yea bring it over and my assistant and i will get it cleaned up and running. so thats what we will do. as my 10 year old grandson said " well if we cant own it at lest we can work on it and take it for a ride" so here he comes today and its not a combat wombat its a 72 94 wombat so new project . my assistant and i will have the satisfaction of knowing that theres a hodaka wombat on the rural roads of central minnesota once again ...more to come....albert

Those are all parts of a “head steady “ designed to stabilize the motor. Other part connect the bracket to the studs. Mostly CW (95) parts

As Bob mentioned, it was a head stay to cut down on vibration. I think they only came on the earlier Wombats. I have seen them both ways, so I don't think it was very critical. If you check, you will see that the parts mounted to the frame tube (behind the coil) are actually a pair of handle bar clamps (Hodaka was good at re-purposing parts).

if its not critical we will let it go for now. getting into it a little bit and it looks like it has many things in common with the 2 ACE B+,es we did . i just ordered parts and and talking to myself about how ive done this before. were doing the engine, forks , carb and misc parts, need to find a clutch and a shifter/ mag cover any points in the right direction would really be helpful. wheels and all that looks good nitto tires look almost new good enough for farm work ...albert

We’ve checked out points! They are the same for the Wombats & Aces. They are rated at .25-.27 micro farads. So you can get any, especially if you go relocated. I just bout this one, for the Honda, and they will fit in the space on the stator. You can just solder to the end of the attached wire. :ugeek: Victor

Honda Part # ‪30250-001-013‬ and #30250-001-024 fit Hodaka 90, 100 & 125 cc motors.

Just Kidding! The Kawasaki F8 Condenser I believe is the correct replacement for Part #943010. Someone needs to buy one to see. If someone does, let us know! Otherwise I will. Joe.

made to the shop and showed the guy who is pretty helpful and he said the numbers that i showed him didnt come up on the computer, go figure, anyway i told him what i was doing and he went and found one that he said would work, so for 3.99 i picked it up to compare with the one in the wombat. the one in the wombat measures in inches 1.081 long and .608 dia / this one .864 long and .591 dia it would sit in the Magneto assembly frame the same depth when the tab is trimmed off and that's about all i know . i think for me relocating up under the tank was fairly easy and would do it again.....albert

after scratching my head for a few hours looking at the primary gear in the schematics a 94 should have a 55t/ helical gear the one in this engine is a 63 tooth strait cut gear, is it possible it came out of a 93, 93A or a 93B i could not find a tooth count but it looks like the picture on the schematics it might explain why the one i got wont work....albert

The parts on the right side of your photo are Wombat correct. The left side is a 93 Super Rat Primary gear and a cut down Clutch Hub part #944012. The 63 tooth gear is 93 93A Super Rat. A possible attempt to Design a new gear combo called a RATBAT. I`ve seen these things done in the past usually by someone with a SERIOUS Drug problem. Joe.
