Replacement condenser issues,

Post by Bruce Young »

It has come to my attention that there is a rash of issues happening when replacing condensers in Hodaka Ign., Systems, it seems that the current suppliers whom have been selling Hodaka replacement ign. condensers. The issue is they come apart on the end where wires are connected. It seems these condensers are being made in Twain or China, I would like to hear from you in the Hodaka World if you have had problems such as this. I might also add there is a effort under way to find replacement condensers that are being built in other countries. If you have any suggestions or ideas, or have found a source for exact good replacement condensers please let me know, source. Thanks again for help. Perhaps the best solution would the development of a remote condenser kit, using another brand (Honda?) condenser manufactured with a lead and connector -- and not subject to the potentially damaging heat of soldering when installed.

I would concur with Darrell! It would also make it more practical for remote locating. :ugeek: Victor

Bruce,

Have you checked with SUDCO? They used to sell ignition parts for vintage bikes and I know at one time they had points and condensers for Hodaka's (the same parts also fit other brands).
