Ace 90 GoPro Footage - Fun Times!

Post by Pep »

Here’s some footage of yesterday’s test run on an Ace 90. This is the one with a reeded 94 engine and ignition that some of y’all helped me wire up via forum advice. Original paint, original scars, nothing fancy, but I sure like her.
Not a lot of time on the rebuild, so never had her wide open - but she purred along happily at 50 MPH.
If you have a few minutes to kill, enjoy the sound and scenery - Texas Hill Country at the tail end of spring - still green and the creeks are running. Gotta wait till the end to hear the engine working (if you’re into that kind of thing)
Jay, if you’re out there, here’s some Corb Lund for ya!

Laurie,
Scenery is nice. Bike sounds great. Got to get a GoPro.

Thanks for posting the video! I would like to do the same thing you did with your 90 but with a ace100. DG

Dang I enjoyed that ride! My bike is currently a box of parts sitting beside a bare frame . . . so the only riding I'm getting is "Walter Mitty" style through videos like that. Thanks!

Great-sounding motor, Laurie. THAT's Texas? Where are all the steer skulls, vultures and cacti? Actually, the scenery reminds me a lot of my riding days in the mountains and high desert of southern California before the wind turbines took over. I was hoping for a glimpse of the bike, too.

Oh--and the soundtrack was most appropriate.

Thanks y’all!
One complaint/comment I got was “More bike, less road!”
So yesterday fellow Hodaka-nut Silky O’Gan was out wrenching - we took a break and went for a joy ride on the Aces - I grabbed the GoPro and got some fun clips.
Another Corb Lund song, but just about a minute and a half long

P.S. If it’s not already obvious, we are WAY excited about Hodaka Days!!
