Ace B???

Post by viclioce »

Is it possible there was a .080 piston available for the Ace 100 B? I pulled out the trannies I was given by Paul Schwarting. One of them, which unfortunately is currently seized, had a piston in it and it has an 80 on the top of the piston!

Thankfully, I have 2 more trannies which are functional, and a second cylinder, but was there really a time when you could get .080 pistons for an Ace 100??? I’m guessing the answer is ‘must have been!’

Zoom in on the pic. I’ve got it soaking with PB Blaster right now, just to get the cylinder loose????

This is why I decided I need a cylinder & piston micrometer! :ugeek: Victor

You Bet!!! I have A +.080 Piston in a 70 Super Rat Engine. I have 3 Webco USA +.080 Pistons. They take Yamaha Piston Rings Part # 335-11611-0. Ultra light compared to the Wiseco. I just got done weighing several pistons. Here are the results from Low to High: Webco .080 91Grams. Hodaka Model 93 ART +.040 93 Grams. Hodaka Model 92 ART +.040 96 Grams. And the Heaviest 100cc Piston in my collection is: WISECO 121P8 Red Box with Spiro Locks. Weighing in at (are you ready) ? 134 GRAMS!!! The Webco #1462 is the Winner!!! Joe Ormonde.
