I had some Road Toad shifter cases repaired locally. What I did was ask my local machine shop guy who, locally, was good at aluma-welding. He gave me the name and address of this local welder $ fabricator.

He fixed both cases for me fo a cost of $40 for both cases. He knew what he was doing, because he showed me how far the cases opened up along the crack lines whenctgey were heated for welding and he took care of it much further than it appeared when they were cold.

So, I suggest you check with a few of your local machine shops and go with the person who’s name comes up most often. :ugeek: Victor

TIG welding (Heliarc) is more common now than ever. Any shop that does automotive Cylinder Head Rebuilding TIG welds. I had several Heads welded up that were corroded past the head gasket. They use a new gasket as a template. All the corroded material is ground out. Then they keep on welding until the sealing areas are back. Then they resurface the head and done. Aluminum radiators too! Paper thin stuff. Dirt bike Radiators same thing. Automotive Radiator shops. They may fix your stuff. A radiator shop welded a PRICEY Aluminum Radiator for me in 5 minutes and charged me 10 bucks!!! Call around. Labor varies . My brother Andy has an Industrial TIG welder but he moved to Colorado and I can`t afford my stuff getting lost. I WAS in the process of buying my own TIG welder but my Dental work is setting me back $13,000.00 Boo Hoo. Joe Ormonde.
