dent in head pipe I
I've got two squirt pipes, both have small dent at curvature of head pipe, about size of a dime. Thinking about drilling a hole, heating pipe and carefully using slide hammer to pull dented area out, then brazing hole. Other options welcomed

What are the conditions of the pipes in general? Especially degree of rust. I've used the technique you describe with excellent results. If the metal is nearly rusted through and brittle, you could potentially do more damage whanging away with a slide hammer on a dent that probably has a negligible effect on the performance of the pipe (unless the dent is really deep). There is also a technique using local heating and compressed air that my brother uses with great results. If you are interested, I could inquire about the technical details. What are you intending to do with the pipe. Leaving it as is if the dent is shallow is reasonable if the pipe will go on a rider.

My method is simple: Gas weld a rod to the dent, bend the rod , heat up the area and pull. Naturally you need the Welding Equipment . Then you cut off the rod and use Brazing Rod as filler and smooth out the area. Little dings can be filled and smoothed out using Brazing Rod (Bronze) Too. Compressed Air is trick, but for tiny stuff I like Brazing rod. I have a 1974 CR250M Down Pipe that i`m just going to let Pacific Crest Pipe Repair fix. Probably. Joe Ormonde.
