Help identify this head

Post by Tether »

I have acquired a bunch of Hodaka parts over the past couple of years and I’m starting to catalog everything.
I am trying to figure out what this head is from. The 2nd number is just a block in the casting. Appears to be for a 50-51mm bore. 100cc?

If that's black paint on the head, I'd say it's a Toad motor.

The shape of the top fins also makes it look to me as a Road Toad Head. But it could also be a Model 01 Dirt Squirt Head based on top fin shape. :ugeek: Victor

1975 99 Road Toad (2)
1973 96 Dirt Squirt (2)

Thanks guys.
the number matches up with the Toad Model 99 except for the missing number that is confusing to me. Did someone forget to put the other 9 in the mold?
I did find some other Toad parts so it does make some sense.

I'm not sure why, but the cylinder head mold(s) for the alloy cylinders used the following numbering procedure:

Combat Wombat - 952501
All others - 9-2501
