Rylan's pipe - Attn: Captain Eddie
Captain, could you take a look at the photos of Rylan's bike on the "shifter" and "exhaust" threads he has recently posted? I'm starting to wonder if he's fixing to mount a toaster tank Squirt pipe (PN 969161 vs 999161) on an 01 frame. I'm sure the pipe will work but he might need to do a little basic fabrication to mount the pipe. I'm looking particularly at the lower mounting tab on the pipe. It seems wayyyyeeee forward of its mounting point on the frame. The upper hanger looks a bit long too. I'm wondering if Rylan is mounting a M96 exhaust system and hardware on an 01 frame. Mayhaps you can save him some frustration.

Yup, that looks exactly like what is happening. A bit of home-brew fabricating is going to be needed.

Im thinking to just put the lower bracket in a vice and carefully been it backwards closer to the frame side

There you go. It would probably be better to bend/modify a bracket than to bend/modify the pipe itself. If necessary, purchase a short length of (say) 1" wide by 1/8" (3/16"?) thick steel strap and make a bracket/strap from scratch.
