250ED oil tank

G'day gents,

Did Hodaka change the capacity of the 250ED 2 stroke oil tank over the production run, I ask as my owners manual states the tank holds 700cc, so was surprised when all of my 1 litre container of oil went in with room for more, maybe another 200cc.
My 30 year hiatus start up is getting oh so close.
